PLANT STYLING 🌱. It’s not rocket science. The thing we have learnt is that you gotta keep them alive. If the houseplants are not happy where they are, keep moving them around until there’s that sweet spot, that the potted plants thrive in. Mix and match with framed artwork and vases. What’s your tip? Money Tree (Pachira Aquatica) I got this one last year half the size and it just keeps growing I love it Money trees are said to bring good luck and good fortune They love bright indirect light, but they will adapt to lower light conditions, especially during the winter, which makes them excellent low light houseplants. Just don’t put them in direct light or the leaves will burn They aren’t a fan of being over watered, I normally water this one about once a week during spring/summer, and every two weeks in the fall/winter, but I spray it with water every few days #moneytree#pachiraaquatica#boyswithplants#plantsofinstagram#urbanjungle#indoorplants#plants#greenthumb#greenroom
Today’s harvest buddy was my loyal rescue dog Bessie. 😍 She kept a close eye on what I was doing and even got one of the fallen red tomatoes 🍅 before I could get to it! 🤣 This is almost all the beetroots harvested, now destined for roasted beetroot dip. 😋 Next to go in that bed is Spinach and Rainbow 🌈 chard which will be protected from the hot afternoon sun ☀️ by the tomatoes in front of them. Happy Gardening Everyone, Ingrid 🧡
• Swipe 👉🏻 to see a little of what’s blooming in the garden at the moment! 1️⃣ perennial basil: this is a variety of basil with a more medicinal scent, which doesn’t die back over winter and grows really well in our hot Australian climate. The bees LOVE it and to keep it nice all year round you just have give it a heavy prune twice a year - once just before spring, and again during mid summer (i.e. NOW!) 2️⃣ fennel: another one which the bees love. Fennel grows in my garden most of the year. It’s really hardy, produces beautiful flower heads, and all parts of the plant are edible; pollen, leaves, stem and bulb. 3️⃣ society garlic: one of my favourite additions to salads! These purple flowers are edible, with a subtle hint of garlic. They add a nice pop of flavour and colour to a dish, making them a wonderful garnish! 4️⃣ tomatoes! Ohhh I could go on and on about my tomatoes at the moment! I love them!! They’re fruiting just enough to provide a few for me each day, but I’ve decided next year I wanna totally ramp it up, so I grow enough to make sauces to keep me fed all year round! My favourite this year has been a yellow-orange variety - so pretty and so flavoursome! P.S. if any of my gardening friends know the exact variety of the orange tomato pictured please tell me so I can grow it every year!! 💕 •
I went into target to buy baby formula and I came out (way over budget) with more plants. Let’s put it this way - if I buy any more plants people may mistake my house for the rainforest. Lesson learned - target is a death trap - proceed with caution.
