GUESS WHAT I still use conventional medicine sometimes 😮 LISTEN... It might seem like I’m anti medicine but I’m really not! I am however anti OVER prescribing and diagnosing. I believe with small, non life threatening symptoms you should always try the natural route first. If it doesn’t take care of it after a few tries and is unbearable, then take the freakin medicine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today I have a full blown migraine which is not atypical for me as you know if you’ve been following along for a while. Chronic daily headaches/migraines are the reason I started on this holistic health journey in the first place so I’m pretty in tune with the kind of headache I’m experiencing. I knew I had a long day and my essential oils, CBD, and ice packs just weren’t going to cut it. So I took an excederin and my prescription migraine pill and went on my way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Would I have taken something if I had the whole day to rest and keep my eyes closed, probably not. But that’s just not reality today and that’s okay. I don’t kick myself when I have to take medicine every once in a while because I went from taking pills every. single. day. for the last 5 years and consistently for the past 12. I am PROUD of how far I’ve come and if I have to take the pills every other month, so be it. It is still such a huge accomplishment and I’m damn proud! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All this to say, I don’t ever want anyone to come to my page and feel discouraged or judged. I made my page to share my knowledge of the powers of #naturalmedicine and using #foodasmedicine. I want to be able to help people who may be struggling like I was. I just want to share awareness of the effects of overuse of prescription drugs but also not to be scared to take them when needed. Bacon track.. or back on track i mean, sorry meat on the mind 🤷🏻♂️ #yes2meat@shawnbaker1967 • Ive gotten really depressed and unmotivated to do anything, including live.. and for awhile i thought it was because i just got burnt out and didn’t want to research stuff or learn or get better i just gave up.. but i realized it wasn’t that i just got burnt out. It was that i was fonsuming carbohydrates.. • A few months back i started consuming carbs again and it didn’t really cause any joint pain, inflammation or fatigue like i normally get so i figured HELL YEA MY GUTS FIXED LETS EAT ALL THE CARBS.. boy was i wrong.. Completely ignoring all knowledge on health i have i continued to consume carbs and got more and more depressed / unmotivated than i have ever been in my life.. i take carbs away and within two days my moods already better. My motivation is back and my will to not only live but THRIVE and figure my health out is back 💪🏻🧠🙌🏻 • So for now apparently I’m still having reactions to plant chemicals, just manifesting in a different way this time (depression/mood issues rather than joint pain/inflammation) • Anyway I’m gonna try harder to put out relative and informative content again more frequently 🙏🏻 • Also for those of you thinking I’m saying plants are the root cause of all issues, you’re wrong. Audible exhale…being back in the Lowcountry after a long, stressful week is pure medicine. I never get tired of this view, and it means even more when your heart is heavy. I lost my mother this past week, and I am still in disbelief that she is not just a phone call away. But I see her in scenes like this and take solace in the natural beauty she loved so much.
