If you don’t take a selfie with your @hydroflask - do you even have a Hydro Flask? But honestly, I love my 12oz coffee flask! It’s small enough for my purse and keeps drinks nice and warm. Most coffee shops are super receptive to personal cups, so bring yours along to avoid disposables! Most coffee cups are lined with plastic, so they can’t be recycled. Unless your disposable cup says otherwise, throw it in the trash! Your lid and sleeve can go in the recycling bin.
There are roughly 24 million people in Australia. A plastic toothbrush weighs at least 15g. If we’re all replacing our toothbrushes at least once a year then 360,000kg of toothbrush plastic is going straight into landfill annually. If we change our toothbrushes every 3 months as recommended then that number could be as high as 1,440,000 kg of plastic, and that’s just in Australia. The small choices we make all add up. Have you made the switch to an eco toothbrush yet?

Wednesday Basics: Vitamin B1 aka Thiamine! Thiamine is an essential nutrient that all tissues of the body need to function properly. The body needs thiamine to make adenosine triphosphate (ATP) or cell energy. Though thiamine deficiencies are rare, the diseases that develop from B1 deficiency are kinda scary 😱 Rest assured, thiamine can be found in many foods like beef, nuts, oats, oranges, pork, eggs, seeds, legumes, rice and peas 🥩🍙🍊. I am now so craving a hot bowl of chia oatmeal with fruit, brown sugar and organic whole milk 😋

The remains of Queen Arnegunde were found in 1959 by the archaeologist Michel Fleury. Along with the skeleton and preserved lung were a strand of hair, jewelry, and several fragments of textiles and leather. A gold signet ring, with the inscription "Arnegundis" showed that the remains belonged to the Merovingian Queen Arnegunde (c. 515/520-580) - one of the six wives of King Clotaire I (c. 497 – 29 November 561), and the mother of King Chilpéric I (c. 539 – September 584). Her clothes were made of precious Byzantine silks and had embroidery stitched with gold thread. In preparation for her final resting place, she was dressed in a reddish silk coat over a violet silk tunic, and red shoes and a red and yellow silk veil. She was then wrapped in a hemp shroud, or had been covered with a hemp cloth.
