Firstly the basics. If you are eating more calories than you a burning daily then over time you will gain weight. Now turn this on its head, if you are eating less calories than you are burning you will lose weight. - There are NO best foods for fat loss and there certainly isn’t any specific foods that will help you lose fat quicker. - With that been said, there is foods out their that have more VALUE than others. Foods that keep you feeling fuller when in a deficit, foods that contain more nutrients than others and also foods that have a higher (TEF) thermic effect of food than others. - Remember, it boils down to calories in against calories out and this is what you need to monitor most alongside the obvious, your consistency. - Don’t overthink things! Are you ready to diet? No seriously are you? So many people diet when realistically they may not be ready. Ask yourself these questions. Have you already dieted in the last 3-4 months? No I don’t mean a week or 2 doing the atkins. Have you consistently been in a deficit for more then 6 weeks? Do you have a good relationship with food? A bad relationship with food could include high food focus, always thinking about food, episodes of binge eating, abeing over obsessive/restrictive with food, aka being in a bulking phase but still tracking meticulously. Are you in a good place metabolically? Can you maintain your weight on a good level of calories (at least 13-14x your bodyweight in pounds)? Do you really want to diet? Are you prepared to make any level of sacrifice? Could any occasions in the near future get in your way? Could you work around this whilst still being in a deficit? If you can’t answer yes to all of the above you probably aren’t ready to diet. Spend some time on working to improve the above and then you’ll be in a better place to start a successful, safe maintainable diet. Are you interested in online coaching? Had planned a rest day today but weather was so good again that I decided to go out for a run🏃 Started early in the dark, temperature was minus 1, puddles were iced over and stayed that way for the next 2 hours. Finished with my hands frozen in one position, literally couldn't move them, but really enjoyed the jog, that's 3 outdoors runs this week 💖👍 MTD no longer stands for Maverick Treadmill Division 😂 Off home to warm up, have breakfast, do some work, then out tonight to celebrate mum's birthday 🍰💖💖🍰

The sets that matter: Back to normal in terms of training, after a few weeks of exams. Straight back into Legs, and PBd Hack squats at 4.5 plates each side for 12. Instagram only lets me put 1min videos up though🙄 With a bit more free time now, I am hoping to start pushing a lot more content online. Let me know what you want to see!
