This plaque buildup, known as atherosclerosis, is the hardening of the arteries by pockets of cholesterol-rich fatty material that builds up beneath the inner linings of the blood vessels. This process seems to occur over decades, slowly bulging into the space inside the arteries, narrowing the path for blood to flow. - ‼️According to William C. Roberts, editor in chief of the American Journal of Cardiology, the only critical risk factor for atherosclerotic plaque buildup is cholesterol, specifically elevated LDL cholesterol in our blood. ❌Stop cheating on your diet❌ . What's up guys it's Coach Vic in the house. . Have you ever cheated on your diet or ever ate way more food than you should have, even when you knew it wasn't right for you? . Well, it was just 2 weeks before Frank & I competed in our first bodybuilding show, we were both getting super lean, but also super tired. . I was at a family BBQ, I had made my own meal & ate it there to make sure I would stay on track & avoid any chance of cheating on my diet. . I ate the food I had made however my mom was telling me to eat some of the BBQ & rice she had made. She kept telling me “you'll be fine if you eat one plate”, “you can just work it off”. . Feeling extra hungry, I fell into the pressure and ended up eating so much food that it made me feel guilty, bloated, & disappointed in myself. . I never told Frank about it until after our show & he ended up telling me he had also cheated on his diet that same exact day. . Talk about being a twin 😅 . We talked about it & we both knew that if we were to have been at the same place that day, we both would have not cheated on our diet. . Even though we never told each other untill after the competition, being around each other & holding each other to high standards helped us get right back on track after slipping. . This is why Frank & I are so big on ACCOUNTABILITY, when you have someone or two people holding you accountable, who have your best interest in mind, who knows what you struggle with most, and who give you that occasional kick in the A** to unleash your true potential it makes surpassing your goals SO much easier! . Not being able to touch your toes in a forward fold doesn’t make you bad at yoga, me being able to almost touch my elbows in a forward fold doesn’t make me good at yoga - all it means is that you might have tighter hamstrings than me! Yoga is not measured by our physical flexibility or our physical strength, because there is no such thing as being good or bad at yoga. Yoga is a practice, it’s a daily ritual. So show up on your mat, show compassion and kindness towards others and especially towards yourself, breathe – that is yoga.
